PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a finger vein authentication system which improves performance and authenticating precision of 1:N authentication and thereby can increase the number of N to several hundreds or more. SOLUTION: The finger vein authentication system includes: a means for, in registering finger vein data read by a finger vein reading device in a finger vein information database, grouping finger vein data according to the pleat data of the same finger, and for registering the finger vein data for each group; and a means for specifying the group of the finger vein data corresponding to the pleat data based on the pleat data read by the finger vein reading device in authentication, and for performing the collation processing of the finger vein data of the specified group.
