Disclosed is a pharmaceutical product or food, which has an excellent fat accumulation inhibitory activity and/or fat metabolism improving activity, and is effective for inhibition or amelioration of obesity, fatty liver and the like. Specifically disclosed is an agent of prevention or amelioration of obesity, which contains cells of a lactic acid bacterium belonging to the genus Pediococcus, a cell culture thereof, or an extract of those, as an active ingredient.
