<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform regeneration processing of a filtering device in an exhaust emission control device. <P>SOLUTION: A total fuel injection amount required until regeneration is completed is calculated at predetermined intervals during the regeneration processing. The calculated total fuel injection amount is compared with a threshold, and when the total fuel injection amount exceeds the threshold, the regeneration processing is halted at the time. Thereby, if the regeneration processing is executed under a condition not suitable for the regeneration processing of the filter, the regeneration processing is halted to prevent the needless fuel injection, so that degradation in fuel economy or oil dilution is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
