PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for a glass substrate which is capable of suitably preventing application of shock to the glass substrates even if subjected to impact from the outside, such as by being accidentally dropped, and which is capable of securely fixing the glass substrates within an accommodating section thereof without positional displacement. SOLUTION: A container body 1 is constituted of a foamed resin molded article having a bottom part 3 and side wall parts 4 that surround the bottom part 3; an accommodating section 2 for accommodating the glass substrates X in a horizontal fashion is formed within the container body 1. Reinforcement members 6 and 7 having a cushioning action in one of the directions of the glass substrates X and at least one other direction that is orthogonal to this direction are arranged at corners 2a of the accommodating section 2 in correspondence to the corners of the glass substrates X.
