PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image capturing apparatus and a lighting device capable of properly adjusting white balance, in response to an ambient temperature during photographing. SOLUTION: The image capturing apparatus (1) includes the lighting device (15), an imaging portion (11), a white balance adjustment means (12), a temperature detection means (18), a calculation means (14) for the amount of color temperature correction, and a white balance correction means (14). The imaging portion (11) photographs reflection light from an object and outputs an image signal. The white balance adjustment means (12) adjusts white balance for the image signal. The temperature detection means (18) detects the ambient temperature around the lighting device. The calculation means (14) calculates an amount of correction for a color temperature, based on the ambient temperature detected by the temperature detection means (18). The white balance correction means (14) rectifies an amount of white balance adjustment applied by the white balance adjustment means to the image signal output when the imaging portion photographs the object irradiated with illumination light, using an amount of correction for the color temperature calculated by the calculation means.
