PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for the scalp, capable of sufficiently removing sebum-hardened product, and capable of efficiently supplying a nutrient composition to the hair roots, the hair follicles, and the hair-mother cells. SOLUTION: The composition for the scalp contains the nutrient composition for promoting the growth of the hair, at least one of a 1-6C hydroxycarboxylic acid and a plant essence, and further contains a sebum-dissolving component for dissolving the hardened product of the sebum secreted from the scalp, and a≥7C hydroxycarboxylic acid.
