PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anaerobic treatment apparatus having a structure capable of supplying organic waste into a container while keeping the inside of the container anaerobic even in the case of treating the organic waste under the condition of high TS. SOLUTION: A methane fermentation apparatus 1 includes: a body container 11 for methane-fermenting kitchen garbages; a feeder 12 for feeding the kitchen garbages to the body container 11; and a discharge device 13 for discharging fermentation residue remaining after methane fermentation treatment to the outside of the body container 11. The feeder 12 includes: a cylindrical body 22 which is disposed at the upper part inside the body container 11 and opened inside the body container 11 at the lower end; a relay container 23 which is disposed below the cylindrical body 22 and houses the lower end part 22a of the cylindrical body 22; and a supplier 24 which is housed inside the relay container 23 for supplying the kitchen garbages from the inside of the relay container 23 into the body container 11.
