<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser projection apparatus that reduces speckle of a projection image on a screen. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The laser projection apparatus includes: laser beam sources LB, LR, and LG; a scanning device MS that secondarily scans laser beams from the laser beam sources; and a bending element 1 that is disposed between the laser beam sources LB, LR, and LG and the scanning device MS and bends the optical paths of the laser beams. The bending element 1 includes: a polarizing beam splitter (PBS); a reflecting mirror for returning light passed through the reflecting face of the PBS to the PBS; a 1/4-wavelength plate disposed between the PBS and reflecting mirror; a reflecting mirror for returning light reflected by the reflecting face of the PBS to the PBS; and a 1/4-wavelength plate disposed between the PBS and reflecting mirror. An optical path length d1 from the reflecting face of the PBS to the reflecting mirror and an optical path length d2 from the reflecting face of the PBS to the reflecting mirror are different from each other. The optical path length d1 and the optical path length d2 are set so that interference of light reciprocating between the reflecting face of the PBS and reflecting mirror becomes small.
