摘要 <p>Provided is an automatic focusing method for an imaging device in which the effect on lens movement by gravity acting in the direction of the optical axis is suppressed and more accurate focusing than in the past is enabled. The automatic focusing method for an imaging device is characterized in that the effect by gravity acting in the direction of the optical axis during automatic focusing is suppressed, with an automatic focusing method for an imaging device that comprises a first step in which some or all of multiple optical lenses of a photographic lens, that is provided with the multiple optical lenses, are moved to multiple positions between the minimum extended position and the maximum extended position in the direction of the optical axis, and focal states are measured multiple times to obtain multiple sets of measurement data; a second step in which the optimal focal position is computed based on the aforementioned multiple sets of measurement data; and a third step to automatically focus by moving some or all of the aforementioned multiple optical lenses to the aforementioned optimal focal position.</p>
