OPTICAL FIBER CHARACTERISTIC MEASURING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure separately temperature characteristics of an optical fiber and distortion characteristics of an optical fiber.

SOLUTION: The temperature characteristics of the optical fiber and the distortion characteristics of the optical fiber are separately measured based on a Brillouin frequency shift amount obtained from Brillouin scattered light, and a correlation peak frequency shift amount relating to a waveform of Rayleigh-scattering obtained from Rayleigh-scattering light.
