PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing coated paper for printing, having needle penetration resistance and a high surface strength, in a good operability. SOLUTION: This method for producing the coated paper for printing by installing at least≥1 layer of a coated layer containing a pigment and binder on stock paper includes: obtaining a high quality coated paper for printing in the good operability by size-pressing an aqueous starch solution having 12-20 wt.% solid part concentration on the base paper by a rod-metering coating method by using a plane rod.
