<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which is excellent in photoreceptor characteristics and has high sensitivity. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor includes a conductive base and a photoreceptor layer disposed on the conductive base. The photoreceptor layer contains a compound represented by the following formula (1). In the formula (1), Ar is a bivalent group of monocyclic compound or a bivalent group of polycyclic compound, and R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>4</SP>are the same or different from one another and represents hydrogen atom, 1-6C alkyl group, 6-12C aryl group, 6-12C aralkyl group, 3-10C cycloalkyl group or 1-6C alkoxy group.
