<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid delivery device capable of enhancing replaceability of a linear scale, by providing a holder for assembling the linear scale and by providing constitution of assembling the holder easily from a carriage upper part, and an image forming device equipped therewith. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This liquid delivery device includes a carriage 7 mounted with a delivery head unit for delivering a liquid droplet, and the linear scale 17 and a sensor 18 constituting an encoder for generating a signal in response to movement of the carriage 7, and the liquid delivery device has the holder 14 for fixing the linear scale 17, and has the constitution of attaching the holder 14 from the upper part of the carriage 7.
