PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine that operates according to heat load, and maintains efficiency of compressors and cooling capacity. SOLUTION: The vending machine for heat pump operation includes: a right chamber heat exchanger 4L and a middle chamber heat exchanger 4C disposed in a right chamber and a middle chamber, respectively; and a right chamber heat exchanger 4L disposed in the right chamber only for cold drinks. In a refrigerant circuit 102, a first compressor 1a and a second compressor 1b are disposed in parallel, upstream sides of the compressors 1a, 1b are connected to a branch pipe 81a and a branch pipe 81b branched in a branch part 8, downstream sides thereof are connected to a pipe 12a and a branch pipe 19b, and they join each other in a merge part 9. A branch part 9c on an exit side of the first compressor 1a and a merge part 8c on an entrance side of the second compressor 1b are connected by a serial pipe 98 provided with an opening/closing valve 98v. An opening/closing valve 99v is provided between the branch part 9c and the merge part 9, and a check valve 981n is provided between the branch part 8 and the merge part 8c.
