PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail cleaning device capable of changing the direction of a cleaning body through a rotary shaft by the gravity of the cleaning body and a friction force of a cleaning face and traveling on the cleaning face to scrape a deposit to one side only. SOLUTION: The rail cleaning device attached to a traveling body traveling on rails and moving on upper faces of the rails for cleaning is provided with a mounting member 1 fixed to a mounting fitting provided on the traveling body, a rotary member 2 connected rotatably with the mounting member 1, a pedestal member 3 attached to the rotary member 2, and the cleaning member 4 connected with the pedestal member 3. The mounting member 1 is composed of a plate-like mounting pedestal 11 and a fork-shaped block member 12 protruding from the mounting pedestal 11, connected with the rotary member 2 through the rotary shaft 25 passing through the fork-shaped block member 12, and rotates the cleaning member 4 in the oblique direction relative to the rail laying direction by the rotation of a rotary shaft 25 to remove the deposit or an object adhered to the upper faces of the rails by pressing the cleaning member against the upper faces of the rails.
