STAY FOR OPENING AND CLOSING OF DOOR

A stay for opening and closing of a door, the stay not becoming a hindrance to a user when the door is in an open state and being visually uncluttered. A stay for opening and closing of a door is provided with: a body section (15) mounted to a housing (11); an arm (14) having one end rotatably connected to the body section (15); a pressing means provided to the body section (15) and pressing the arm (14) so that the arm (14) rotates in at least one direction; a slider (16) for the arm, mounted to the arm (14) so as to be slidable in the longitudinal direction of the arm (14); a mounting seat (17)installed on a door (12) and rotatably connected to the slider (16). Because the slider (16) slidable relative to the arm (14) is provided and the slider (16) is made to be rotatable relative to the mounting seat (17) installed on the door (12), an opening and closing force can be transmitted to the door (12) from the single arm (14) without requiring two links. Thus, the stay does not become a hindrance to a user and is visually uncluttered.
