PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion of an acid-modified polyolefin resin, which is excellent in adhesiveness to various base materials and water resistance, even the small amount of which exhibits excellent adhesiveness when used as a binder for secondary battery electrodes and which is excellent in resistance to the swelling by an electrolyte, stability and battery properties. SOLUTION: The aqueous dispersion of the acid-modified polyolefin resin contains an acid-modified polyolefin resin, a basic compound and an aqueous medium. The acid-modified polyolefin resin contains an unsaturated carboxylic acid component and an olefin component and has 5-100 mg-KOH/g acid value and 1,000-100,000 mass-average molecular weight.
