<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch circuit which is nonvolatile and improves reliability of data read operation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The latch circuit includes: inverter circuits 110, 120; a switch 162 which connects output of the inverter circuit 110 and input of the inverter circuit 120; a switch 164 which connects the output of the inverter circuit 120 and the input of the inverter circuit 110; a ferroelectric capacitor 132 having one end connected to the input of the inverter circuit 110 and the other end connected to the output of the inverter circuit 110; a ferroelectric capacitor 134 having one end connected to the input of the inverter circuit 120, and the other end connected to the output of the inverter circuit 120; a capacitor 142 having one end connected to a node between the input of the inverter circuit 110 and one end of the ferroelectric capacitor; and a capacitor 144 having one end connected to the node between the input of the inverter circuit 120 and one end of the ferroelectric capacitor 134.
