<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To actualize three-dimentional appearance and to smoothen a surface transmission layer in a decorative article obtained by a hydraulic transfer process. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An activator A is applied onto a printing layer 5 in a state of floating a transfer film 9, which is formed by overlap printing of a printing layer 5 with maximum thickness of 2.5 to 10.0 μm on a water-soluble film 11, on a water surface w1. Thereby an activator applied side of the printing layer 5 is made to be an active layer 5a, an activator unapplied side of the printing layer 5 is made to be an inactive layer 5b with maximum thickness of 0.5 to 8.0 μm and the water-soluble film 11 is dissolved. A surface of a body to be transferred 3 is pressed to the active layer 5a of the printing layer 5 floating on the water surface w1 by dissolution of the water-soluble film 11 to dip the body to be transferred 3 in water. Thus the printing layer 5 is transferred onto the surface of the body to be transferred 3 by water pressure given at the time of being dipped. The body to be transferred 3 on which the printing layer 5 is transferred is set to a molding die 109 and the surface transmission layer 7 with maximum thickness of 0.5 to 1.0 mm is molded by injection molding on the inactive layer 5b of the printing layer 5.
