BANKNOTE BINDING DEVICE AND BANKNOTE BINDING METHOD

A banknote binding device has three stacking sections (21) for binding operation which sort and stack therein different specific kinds of banknotes as banknotes to be bound, a binding section (22) for binding one hundred banknotes to be bound, a pre-binding conveying section (25) for conveying one hundred banknotes, which are stacked in a stacking section (21) for binding operation, to the binding section (22), and a drive controlling section (26) for controlling, when the number of banknotes to be bound which are stacked in a stacking section (21) for binding operation reaches one hundred, drive of the pre-binding conveying section (25) so that the pre-binding conveying section (25) conveys the one hundred banknotes to be bound to the binding section (22). Because the banknote binding device is provided with the three stacking sections (21) for binding operation, the entire device is reduced in size and sorting and stacking operation of banknotes to be bound are smoothly performed.
