摘要 <p>Disclosed are a method and a system whereby the propagation time for an ultrasonic wave signal transmitted from a movable object can be measured accurately while audible noise produced at the time of transmission of the ultrasonic wave signal is reduced. The ultrasonic wave propagation time measurement system is characterized by being comprised of: a transmission unit (2) that transmits an electromagnetic wave signal and an ultrasonic wave signal which indicate the transmission timing; and a reception unit (3) that detects the transmitted electromagnetic wave signal and the ultrasonic wave signal respectively and calculates an ultrasonic wave propagation time based on the reception times for the electromagnetic wave signal and the ultrasonic wave signal; and is equipped with an initial mode setting mechanism that constructs an optimal ultrasonic wave transmitting/receiving system by selecting the set values of one or more setting-use parameters at a control unit (101) that controls the transmission of the signals in the transmission unit and at a data processing unit (206) that controls the detection and calculation in the reception unit.</p>
