<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb a change with time of the characteristics of a driving transistor without causing an increase in a circuit scale and a decrease in the reproducibility on a low tone side in a light emitting device equipped with light emitting elements. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device 10 includes the light emitting element P, a capacitive element C1 which holds a written voltage, and the driving transistor TRa which generates a drive signal to drive the light emitting element P on the basis of the voltage held in the capacitive element C1. The capacitive element C1 has a first electrode R1 to which a fixed power supply potential Vel is supplied, and a second electrode R2. The voltage is written into the capacitive element C1 by supplying a current to the second electrode R2, while the potential of the second electrode R2 is measured.
