METHOD FOR PRODUCING POWDER COATING COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method suitably producing a powder coating composition including a flaky pigment which has a specific shape suitable for developing a plating-like metallic color.

SOLUTION: The method for producing the powder coating composition including thermosetting resin powders to which surfaces the flaky pigment is bonded includes: a first step of preparing the flaky pigment with an average particle diameter of 10μm or less or an average thickness of 60 nm or less; a second step of obtaining a dispersion by dispersing the flaky pigment in a solvent which does not dissolve the thermosetting resin powders; and a third step of obtaining a mixture by mixing the thermosetting resin powders with the dispersion; and a fourth step of removing the solvent by volatilization while stirring the mixture.
