PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original feeder and an image reader that can suppress deterioration in image reading quality due to attached matter which is attached to an original even when the thickness of the originals differ. SOLUTION: The original feeder 2 includes a transporting path 22 having a curved portion and on which the original 10 is transported and a path changing member 23A for changing the position over which the original 10 passes on an image reading line 70 set so that a final end section of the curved portion of the transporting path 22 is crossed.
