<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operator handle for opening and closing a window excellent in durability and operating efficiency, by which a "Shoji" can be stopped and held stably at any open position. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rotation of a rotatable handle shaft 13 extending diagonally upward while penetrating the upper wall of a square-tube-like case 10 fitted to the upper surface of a lower frame 1a of a window frame 1 is transmitted to a screw shaft 14 incorporated in the case 10 through the intermediary of a pair of bevel gears 16, 17 engaged with each other. A slider 18 is threadingly engaged with the screw shaft 14, and is moved in the axial direction of the screw shaft 14 through the rotation of the screw shaft 14. The slider 18 is connected to the outer peripheral part of a rotary plate 21 by a link 22. The rotary plate is supported rotatably around a fulcrum shaft 20. The rotary plate 21 is rotated through the movement of the slider 18, and an L-shaped arm 25 for opening and closing the "Shoji", one end of which is connected to the rotary plate 21, is rotated.
