<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that can easily produce a semispherical fine particle without need of the presence of a crosslinking structure. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a semispherical fine particle includes a first step of dispersing in an aqueous solution of a dispersion stabilizer an organic solvent solution including a polymer and an organic liquid incompatible with the polymer and hardly soluble in water to produce a liquid droplet of the organic solvent having two surface areas consisting of a solution including the polymer and a solution including the organic liquid, a second step of removing the organic solvent from the liquid droplet and a third step of removing the organic liquid from the fine particle having two areas consisting of the polymer and the organic liquid produced in the second step. The polymer, the organic liquid, the organic solvent and the dispersion stabilizer are used to satisfy the following condition that the evaporation speed of the organic liquid is smaller than the evaporation speed of the organic solvent and the difference in the interfacial free energy between each of two surface areas consisting of the solution including the polymer and the solution including the organic liquid and the aqueous solution of the dispersion stabilizer in the liquid droplet produced in the first step is -0.5 to 2.0 mN/m.
