PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wireless communication system that executes resource assignment in a multi-hop environment of three hops or more without concentrating a processing load on a base station. SOLUTION: The wireless communication system includes a gateway device, a movable wireless mobile station, and wireless relay stations for relaying communication between the gateway device and the wireless mobile station, so as to execute a multi-hop relay. At least any one wireless relay station of the wireless relay stations includes a resource management part 26 for managing resources used in a relay station management path within a prescribed range including the station itself in communication paths connecting between the wireless mobile station and the gateway device.
