<p>The present disclosure gives a detailed description of methods for determining the presence of Chikungunya viral nucleic acids in blood/serum/plasma samples by employing "Oligonucleotide" probes. The designed "Oligonucleotide" probes can be used for qualitative or quantitative detection of Chikungunya virus in an infected sample by employing Real time PCR.</p>
