TERMINAL FITTING AND TERMINAL FITTING CONNECTING STRUCTURE

Disclosed are male and female terminal fittings which can be connected, and have a high electrical reliability and an excellent operability. A female terminal (20) is provided with a rectangular tube-like connection portion (25) to which a tab (13) of a male terminal (10) is inserted. A disc spring (40) is attached to a bottom surface (26) of the connection portion (25). The disc spring (40) is elastically deformed while the tab (13) is inserted, so that the tab (13) is brought into contact with a contact portion (33) of a ceiling surface portion (28) of the connection portion (25) by an elastic restoring force after the insertion of the tab (13) is finished. With regard to the load deformation characteristics, the disc spring (40) has nonlinear characteristics, i.e., has an area wherein the spring constant is nearly equal to zero during the deformation.
