摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication system capable of detecting that a slave station device is in an abnormal condition, even if the slave station device transmits arbitrary optical signals during a transmission prohibited period. <P>SOLUTION: The optical communication system 100 includes a master station device 110 and a plurality of slave station devices 120 for transmitting data via an optical fiber connected to the master station device. Each of the plurality of slave station devices transmits data containing an identifier for specifying the own device during a mutually different transmission permitted period. The optical communication system identifies a slave station device specified by an identifier contained in data received by the master station device as a transmission source slave station device. When a transmission source slave station device cannot be identified at a first transmission permitted period established so that the first slave station device may transmit data, and when a second slave station device is identified as a transmission source slave station device at a second transmission permitted period established so that the second slave station device may transmit data, the optical communication system detects that the second slave station device is in an abnormal condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
