<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate inconvenience in a conventional technique, and to efficiently screen-display an area of the text of a document desired to be read by a user, when displaying the document of an Internet content written by a mark-up language, on a client terminal screen. <P>SOLUTION: When a document is displayed on a screen, in the document structure of the document, any structural element is detected as a first element from among a frame element defined by a mark-up language, a table element defined by the mark-up language, and a block element defined by a style sheet, and further a second element defined in the first element is detected out of the structural elements. Then, a condition is set which sets the detected second element as a display element and sets the structural element other than the display element as a nondisplay element.
