<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera apparatus with a flash dimming function with which flash light can be dimmed highly accurately even if a much normal light component is contained. <P>SOLUTION: A normal light component of a photographic scene is calculated and if the calculated normal light component exceeds a predetermined exposure amount, a shutter speed is accelerated to decrease the number of effective lines for effectively operating flash light during pre-emission. If the normal light component is smaller than or equal to the predetermined exposure amount, the shutter speed is decelerated to increase the number of effective lines for effectively operating flash light during pre-emission. During pre-emission exposure, timing to control the emission of flash light is controlled so as to irradiate all the lines in an effective area which is set from the number of effective lines with the flash light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
