<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixed-pattern noise removal unit for accurately removing fixed-pattern noise with a simple structure without arranging a mechanical shutter nor an optical black while simplifying a manufacturing process. <P>SOLUTION: A timing controller causes an imaging element to generate an image signal in an exposure time of 200 ns. An A/D converter 25 converts the image signal to image data. An image processing part 30 includes a region averaging circuit 31, a determination circuit 32, an FPN creation circuit 33, and an FPN correction circuit 34. The region averaging circuit 31 stores pseudo black pixel data constituting the image data in a DRAM 27. The region averaging circuit 31 averages the entire pseudo black pixel data stored in the DRAM 27. The determination circuit 32 determines whether the pseudo black pixel data are used for noise data based on a reference luminance range and the averaged pseudo black pixel data. The FPN creation circuit 33 generates noise data in the row direction and the column direction by the pseudo black pixel data determined to be used for the noise data.
