PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headrest which can be moved downwards even when a seat back is in an erected state, used in an operatable state when a user drives an automobile in a sitting position, and be manufactured with a simple structure and at low cost. SOLUTION: A headrest for an automobile includes a headrest body 2 and a mounting member 3 on which the headrest body 2 is rotatably mounted with its upper side. An expansion part 24 expanded in the rear side is provided on the back side of the headrest body 2. The expansion part 24 is so configured that an upper surface 102 of a seat back 102 is slid and a lower end of the headrest body 2 can be rotated to a front side of the seat back 102 when the mounting member 3 is moved downwards relative to the seat back 102.
