PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus that makes suitable the amount of guidance information on each divided distance, upon dividing the distance of a guiding route and performing guidance of each divided distance. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus 1 is designed for guidance of a suitable route from a starting point to the point of destination. The system includes a decision means 25 which makes decision as to whether a distance of a continuous ordinary road in the route is a prescribed one or above, a dividing means 26 which divides the distance of the ordinary road into a plurality of divided distances, using intersections as points of division, in the case when the distance of the continuous ordinary road is the prescribed one or above, and a route guidance control means 27 which performs route guidance of each divided distance collectively.
