<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost and complexity of a hydraulic system related to an electronic fuel control system of a large two-stroke diesel engine, and to improve the reliability. Ž<P>SOLUTION: For example, the large uniform two-stroke diesel engine of a cross head type is constituted as follows. The engine is provided with a plurality of cylinders with at least one exhaust valve per cylinder, a camshaft housing extending adjacently to the cylinders in the longitudinal direction of the engine to hold the camshaft in the inside for actuation of the exhaust valves, a plurality of hydraulic piston pumps driven by adaptive cams on the camshafts, hydraulic actuators moving the exhaust valves in the opening direction; hydraulic ducts for connecting the hydraulic piston pumps to the hydraulic actuators, an electronic fuel injection system having a plurality of fuel-driving elements provided along the longitudinal direction of the engine, and a high pressure hydraulic system for supplying the high-pressure fluid through the supply duct provided in the camshaft housing to the fuel driving elements of the electronic fuel injection system.
