<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque estimation device accurately calculating an instantaneous value of combustion torque. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The torque estimation device for an internal combustion engine estimates combustion torque from a revolution speed of a crankshaft. The torque estimation device includes: a revolution speed calculation means 101 calculating the revolution speed of the crankshaft; a combustion torque calculation means 102 calculating the combustion torque from the waveform of a predetermined frequency component out of the waveforms of the revolution speed, by filtering the waveforms of the revolution number; a top and bottom dead center determination means 103 determining the top dead center and the bottom dead center of the internal combustion engine; a combustion torque correction amount calculation means 107 calculating a correction amount of the combustion torque, based on the combustion torque at timing determined as the top dead center or the bottom dead center; and a combustion torque correction means 109 correcting the combustion torque based on the combustion torque correction amount.
