<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure pump efficiently sucking fuel when the fuel is sucked by a plunger. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In comparison with fuel supplied from an inlet opening 133 through a supply passage 18, fuel is forcibly supplied from the opening of a volumetric chamber. Thereby, fuel colliding with a pulsation damper easily forms a crosswise flow in a fuel gallery 13, and inflow of supply fuel from an inlet is easily blocked. For these reasons, an opening edge wall 135 protrudes from the opening edge of the inlet opening 133. The opening edge wall 135 is a cylindrical wall surrounding the inlet opening 133.
