<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element which has long life and high brightness. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescence element comprises a color conversion layer for wavelength conversion of light emitted from a light source with a specific wavelength to light with a longer wavelength than it on the organic electroluminescence element substrate in which an organic layer is held between a pair of electrodes, wherein, on the organic layer, a plurality of light-emitting units including at least a light-emitting layer are layered and intermediate layers having a charge production ability are held between the respective light-emitting units, and the color conversion layer contains a host material and an ortho-metalation complex with phosphorescence luminosity which is green luminosity or red luminosity.
