<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device flexibly determining data to be read ahead. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The storage device has: a nonvolatile memory (2); a buffer memory (4) with access speed faster than that of the nonvolatile memory; and a control circuit (5); wherein the control circuit generates, when a read ahead command is input from the outside, a read ahead data management table in which a logic address of read ahead data which is specified by the read ahead command is associated with a buffer memory address for storing the read ahead data, reads data which is specified by the command from the nonvolatile memory and stores it in the buffer memory as the read ahead data, and when a read out command is input from the outside, outputs the corresponding read ahead data from the buffer memory when a logic address which is specified by the read out command matches to the logic address which is associated in the read ahead data management table.
