<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component supply device using a component carrying mechanism for carrying components from a storage to accurately supply the thin and light components to a fixed position. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The component supply device includes a storage container 2 for storing components R, the component carrying mechanism 3 for carrying the components R to a predetermined position (a pick-out position) in the storage container 2, a component detecting mechanism 4 using laser light for detecting whether there are the components R at the predetermined position, and a control part 6 for operating the component carrying mechanism 3 to be driven when the component detecting mechanism 4 detects that there are no components R at the predetermined position.
