PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle dispersion liquid for display wherein a cohesive force is given between particles for display having the same polarity in comparison with the use of two kinds of polymer dispersants different in charge polarities in a system wherein at least two kinds of particles for display different in charge polarities are mixed. SOLUTION: The particle dispersion liquid for display includes: (a dispersion medium 50) which contains a main dispersion medium. an additive dispersion medium having a solubility parameter (SP value) different from that of the main dispersion medium and of which the difference in solubility parameter (SP value) from particles for display is larger than the difference in solubility parameter (SP value) between the main dispersion medium and particles for display; and a first particle for display (a particle group 34A thereof) which is dispersed in the dispersion medium and moves in accordance with an electric field and has a first polymer dispersant deposited on the surface thereof and has a functional group immiscible to the main dispersion medium in the surface thereof or the first polymer dispersant.
