PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored composition for a color filter, having high luminosity and excellent heat resistance, light resistance and solvent resistance and to provide a color filter using the same. SOLUTION: The colored composition for the color filter includes a dyestuff carrier comprising a transparent resin, a precursor thereof or a mixture thereof and a dyestuff composed of a salt forming compound of an acid dye and a basic dye, preferably a dyestuff composed of a salt forming compound of a phthalocyanine based dye and a triarylmethane based dye.
