PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device and an image forming device, capable of enhancing the detection accuracy of a detecting means. SOLUTION: The detecting means having a sensor arm 9 and a sensor 10 for detecting a sheet is arranged in a sheet carrying passage 8 for carrying the sheet. The detection accuracy of the detecting means is enhanced by constituting a lower guide 4 and an upper guide 5 oppositely arranged for forming the sheet carrying passage 8 so that the sheet curves the sheet in the width direction orthogonal to the sheet carrying direction when detecting the sheet by the detecting means.
