PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compressor with a compression mechanism having a low-stage side compression chamber and a high-stage side compression chamber, for suppressing the pressure pulsation amplification of fluid flowing in a fluid passage connecting the compression chambers to a muffler. SOLUTION: A length L2 of a low-stage side discharge passage (51) is set to satisfy a relationship of L2<c/(4×fmax), where c [m/s] is the sound velocity of fluid to be compressed by the compression mechanism (3) and fmax [Hz] is the maximum operation frequency of a motor (4) to be adjusted by an inverter (72).
