PURPOSE: An apparatus for measuring the strip speed on a rolling stand is provided to control the roll speed of each rolling stand in real time, thereby reducing malfunction or failure rate. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring the strip speed on a rolling stand comprises an induction current generating unit(2), a magnetic flux generating unit(1), a reference current application unit(3), and an induction current measuring unit(4). The induction current generating unit in which a secondary coil is wound is formed outside a hollow part. The magnetic flux generating unit in which a fist coil is wound applies reference current to the primary coil. The induction current measuring unit measures the current which is induced in the secondary coil as a strip(5) moves through a hollow portion formed in the induction current generating unit.
