<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nerve growth promoter that has promotion action on nerve growth factor production and promotion action on neurite extension and contains an extract of Ganoderma atrum, Ganoderma japonicum or Ganoderma sinense. <P>SOLUTION: The nerve growth promoter contains an extract of Ganoderma atrum, Ganoderma japonicum or Ganoderma sinense. The extract of Ganoderma atrum, Ganoderma japonicum or Ganoderma sinense exhibits a maximum absorption at 280-330 nm and contains an intramolecular aromatic ring. The solution of ethyl acetate soluble component has colorability.
