PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly understand a change in a toner concentration in a developer storage even if a variation is found in the stirring speed of a developer stirring means.

SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a toner concentration calculation means 52 calculating the toner concentration in the developer storage 41 according to an output signal from a concentration sensor 50. The toner concentration calculation means 52 decides, from aging data of the output signal from the concentration sensor 50, a period of fluctuation included in the aging data at each cycle and calculates the toner concentration at each cycle.
