<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable compound having excellent solubility with other liquid crystalline compounds when constituting a polymerizable liquid crystal composition, and expressing excellent heat resistance and mechanical strengths when the liquid crystal composition is cured. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided: the polymerizable compound expressed by general formula (I); the liquid crystal composition comprising the compound; and an optically anisotropic body or a liquid crystal device. The polymerizable compound has excellent solubility with other liquid crystalline compounds, therefore, is useful as a constituent member of the polymerizable composition. The polymerizable composition containing the polymerizable compound has a wide range of liquid crystal temperatures, and the optically anisotropic body using the polymerizable composition has high heat resistance and is useful for applications in polarization plates, retardation plates and the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
