PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the number of liquid droplets ejected toward a region outside a recording medium which becomes a necessary disadvantage when forming dots all the way to edges of the medium by ejecting liquid droplets without greatly impairing the formation of dots at the edges. SOLUTION: In a liquid ejecting apparatus equipped with a liquid ejecting section for ejecting liquid droplets toward the recording medium in order to form the dots in the medium, the liquid ejecting section ejects toward the vicinity of an edge of the medium the liquid droplets of a number that has been thinned out by a suitable number, and at least a portion of the liquid droplets ejected after thinning out does not land on the medium.
